Maker Camp 2017

Maker Camp 2017

Do you want your student to learn more about STEM fields? How about letting your student express themselves through arts and crafts? In our Maker Camp students can do all that while learning about 3D printing and its applications. Students will work with professionals from a variety of fields ranging from architectural design to entrepreneurship to learn critical skills needed for a future in a STEM profession. This workshop will introduce students to 3D printing, its applications in science and technology, and learn how to design in 3D. Students will participate in hands-on crafting projects that will teach them essential building skills and help hone in their creativity. They will apply everything they learn into designing, building and presenting their original designs. Most importantly they'll have fun doing it and walk away with their own 3D print! (Laptop required, no prior experience necessary)

Subjects covered: Critical Thinking, Presentation Skills, Crafting Skills, 3D Modeling, 3D Printing

What is Bioprinting? It's like 3D printing but with organic materials, or biomaterials. Students will learn to work with algae to study photosynthesis, work with bacteria to learn its useful applications in medicine, understand new methods used in prosthetics and even work with chocolate. We've partnered with experts in the bio-engineering field to teach the latest STEM skills for our students to succeed.
